Sad first for OM

Eliminated by Panathinaikos in the third preliminary round, Olympique de Marseille had never experienced such disappointment.

The adventure of Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League has already come to an end. Six days after their defeat in Athens, OM were indeed eliminated by Panathinaikos on the 3e preliminary qualifying round.

As they led 2-0 at the break, Marcelino’s men saw the Greeks snatch extra time in added time and then win on penalties.

The disappointment is great for the Olympians, especially since OM had never been eliminated in qualifying in their history.
