This Tuesday, the French team will not play at the Stade de France for their match against Iceland as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Blues will evolve at the Parc des Princes, where they will also compete against Azerbaijan and Ukraine in October and November.
The cause? The absence of an agreement between the French Football and GL Events Federation, the new manager of the legendary Blues arena. For several months, negotiations between the two parties have not been able to move forward. The FFF refuses a multi -year concession model and struggles to be convinced by the financial proposals of GL Events.
The FFF wishes to be able to choose to locate its matches at the Stade de France on a case -by -case basis and pay more reasonable rent, far from the 7 million euros previously requested. The great French football instance is targeting a price around 900,000 euros per match, like that paid by the French rugby federation.
A return in March?
The Parisian reveals in its edition of the day that discussions between the two parties could soon resume. The representatives of GL Events and the FFF should meet in the coming days to try to find an agreement for a potential return of the Blues to the Stade de France.
But then when will we be able to review the French team at the Stade de France? If the negotiations are successful, The Parisian
argues that Didier Deschamps' men could regain their stadium next March. It will then depend on the calendar of the Blues.
