OL: Fofana, his choice explained

Despite an agitated summer marked by the departures of Georges Mikautadze and Alexandre Lacazette, Olympique Lyonnais managed to keep its young nugget, Malick Fofana. The Belgian striker, valued at around 40 million euros, attracted the lusts of large European displacements such as Chelsea, Liverpool or Bayern Munich.

The Gantoise trained player was also approached by Everton. But he declined the offer of the Toffees, preferring to aim for a club likely to compete in the Champions League in the event of departure.

Fofana's priority

In an interview with daily Het Belang Van LimburgFofana confirmed the interest of other training courses. He also mentioned his decision to stay at OL.

“Yes, there have been interests from large clubs. But nothing concrete, in the end. I considered a transfer, it's true, but in the end, I told myself that it was important that I play a lot this season. And it must be done here in Lyon, because I still have progress to make ”said the native of Alst.
