This international truce, which will see the French team face Ukraine (Friday) and Iceland (Tuesday) as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, coincides with the fence of the summer transfer window. Since Monday evening, clubs playing in the five major European championships have actually completed their recruitment.

If Didier Deschamps will be able to count on contract players and in great shape for these two meetings, some of his former protĂ©gĂ©s in selection remained on the tile. There is even enough to make a beautiful team with the former three-color international internationals from the “DD” era who find themselves free as air.

An eleven of French internationals at less than € 20 million

Starting with Steve Mandanda. After a last season at Stade Rennais, the goalkeeper (40) is still valued at 500,000 euros by the site Transfermarkt. Léo Dubois (30 years, € 2 million), Samuel Umtiti (31 years, € 1.5 million), Mamadou Sakho (35 years, 200 k €), Kurt Zouma (30 years, € 10 million) and Benjamin Mendy (31 years, € 1 million) are available in defense.

In the midfield, Tiémoué Bakayoko (31 years, € 1 million), Josuha Guilavogui (34, 300 k €), Clément Grenier (34, 200 k €) and Dimitri Payet (38, 750 K €) could also do some services. As for Wissam Ben Yedder (35 years, € 2 million), the only ex-attacker of the Blues without an employer, his legal problems seriously complicate things.

The eleven of the Blues of Deschamps without contract: Mandanda – Dubois, Umtiti, M. Sakho (or Mangala), Zouma, B. Mendy (or Kurzawa), T. Bakayoko, Guilavogui, Grenier, Payet – Ben Yedder (total market value according to Transfermarkt: € 19.45 million).
