The Algerian midfielder could experience an unexpected turn in his career after his Marseille failure.

After having failed to win and seduce in Marseille, Ismaël Bennacer saw a new disavowal. OM has definitely closed the door to the Algerian international, preferring to bet on other profiles for its midfielder. Milan no longer counts on him. At 27, the 2019 African champion finds himself in the deadlock, forced to accept a destination that would have seemed unthinkable a few years ago.

Bennacer's brutal fall

Bennacer could bounce back in Türkiye. Trabzonspor began concrete discussions with AC Milan to obtain the loan from the former Empoli crack. The Turkish club is determined and would even be ready to assume all of its salary. A destination that marks a dizzying fall for the one that shone at the highest European level recently.

This forfeiture is explained by an accumulation of disappointments. Holder indisputable during the 2022 Scudetto, Bennacer saw his influence decline in Milan. Its OM loan was supposed to relaunch it, but six months later, the verdict is final: Marseille did not lift the purchase option of 12 million euros. Even the arrival of Mister Allegri has not changed the situation in the minds of Milanese leaders.

A final opportunity to relaunch

For Trabzonspor, it's a boon. The Turkish club is betting on Bennacer's experience to stabilize his environment before the shock against Fenerbahçe. But for the player, it's a risky bet. Leaving the European elite for the Turkish Süper Lig represents a considerable decline in a career that seemed promised to the summits. At his age, each choice counts to hope to find the land that counts.

Repeated injuries obviously caused this formerly so promising element. The best CAN 2019 player continues to tumble, but Turkey could offer the ideal environment for a renaissance. It remains to be seen whether Bennacer will be able to seize this final chance of reviving, far from European spotlights.
