The French women’s team attracted nearly 5.7 million viewers on Saturday morning during its elimination in the quarter-finals of the World Cup against Australia.

Despite the match being scheduled for 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning, the French women’s team attracted nearly 5.7 million viewers for their World Cup quarter-final against Australia, lost after an interminable session of shots on goal (0-0, 7 tab to 6), as indicated by Médiamétrie the day after elimination.

The meeting broadcast on France 2 achieved 69.6% audience share. That is to say that nearly 7 out of 10 viewers followed this interminable meeting when they woke up. An excellent result!

This is also the best performance for Hervé Renard’s Bleues at the Australian World Cup, after the scores of 5.2 million viewers in the round of 16 against Morocco and 4.3 million in the second match of groups against Brazil.

The French women’s team, however, does less well than during the 2019 World Cup which took place in France with meetings obviously offered in prime time. The round of 16 against Brazil attracted no less than 12 million viewers on TF1 and Canal+.
