An outing at the Vélodrome which was to be festive for two young supporters turns into drama. Saturday evening, Lucas and Maxence, 11, were present for the last test before the recovery against Aston Villa. But while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed a double, the two boys were taken care of by the Red Cross after being affected by a firecracker launched from the North turn, relates
Provence.
“We were at the bottom of the north turn, we had numbered places but not being used to turns, we did not know that it was a free placement, so we settled behind the cages”explains the mother of one of the children.
“There were a lot of children around us, and much younger than ours. But a smart little one found funny to launch a huge firecracker on people. The projectile rebounded on the head of a young girl and then exploded in my child's back and her boyfriend. They were burned in the arms, they had tinnitus ”, she reveals to the regional media.
Safety in the enclosure has also been pointed out.
“It was the big nothingness in terms of security, there were very few stadiers. We had to get angry to come and help us ”deplores the mother. According to her, the area welcomed many children and nothing allowed the ignition of a nearby pyrotechnic machine.
The accused club
The parents of the two boys filed a complaint in the hope that the stadium cameras identify the manager. But their anger also extends to the attitude of the club: “We tried to contact the club via the contact form on the Internet and via social networks, but we had no return, zero reaction”.
Faced with controversy, OM has recognized its responsibility as an organizer and ensures that an internal procedure is underway. Contact is planned with the family of children to take stock of the incident consequences.
