Manchester City has taken an important step in the Rodrygo file, the Real Madrid striker. The Brazilian is a longtime favorite from Pep Guardiola and has already been mentioned.

According to Florian Prettenberg de Sky de Sky de, City began discussions with Real Madrid and Rodrygo for a transfer. This is also an informal approach, but City expressed its interest, after previous rumors exploring a possible acquisition of the Brazilian international. Prettenberg adds that they are not sure to be able to conclude a final agreement for Rodrygo. No final decision has yet been made regarding a transfer.

Rodrygo clearly indicated that he was no longer a key element of Real Madrid's plans for the future, all the more during the Club World Cup. Rodrygo played a little more than 90 minutes in the six games of the Xabi Alonso team, and only holder once in the United States.

Rodrygo was on the bench during the club World Cup.

How much would Rodrygo recruitment cost?

Various figures have emerged from the Spanish capital concerning the cost of the transfer of Rodrygo du Santiago Bernabéu. Arsenal would have considered a loan, but it is unknown if the Merengues would be open to this option. Real Madrid targets an amount of 100 million euros, with a minimum of 80 million euros mentioned, which would probably require additional premiums.

Coach Xabi Alonso, beyond having clearly indicated that Rodrygo would not be a key player, would probably be delighted with the funds provided by any transfer. He believes that the Merengues need another midfielder, and President Florentino Perez is just as interested in Rodri Hernandez, from City.
