This Wednesday, the Palestinian Football Federation announced the death of Suleiman al-Obeid. The one nicknamed the “Palestinian Palestinian” lost their life in an Israeli strike in Gaza.
Former Markaz Khadamat Al-Shatee striker, Al-Obeid was entitled to a tribute from UEFA. A gesture that did not fail to react the Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah. The reason? The European body did not specify the circumstances of the disappearance of the player.
Salah's scathing answer
According to the Palestinian Federation, Suleiman al-Obeid was killed by Israeli fire during a distribution of aid in the Gaza Strip. UEFA, it has chosen to salute the memory of the 41 -year -old man, father of five children and author of more than 100 career goals, via a message published on X: “Goodbye to Suleiman al-Obeid, the Palestinian Pale. A talent that has given hope to an incalculable number of children, even in the darkest periods. ”
To this publication, the Egyptian striker responded with a scathing: “Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?” »»a comment at bitter irony. As a reminder, in October 2023, Salah had already called to let in humanitarian aid in Gaza and pleaded to end the “massacres” in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
