Ligue 1 is about to start and it's not just the players and coaches who have the pressure. The Ligue 1+ channel, launched by the League, takes over from Dazn as the main broadcaster of the Elite meetings. After the criticisms of the subscription price last season, this new platform is expected at the appointment to try to recreate the link between viewers and the product that is Ligue 1.
Thursday, we learned that subscribers would have the opportunity to share an account, to view a match on two different screens, in two separate places. The price of said subscription was also revealed, with a fairly clear grid.
- 9.99 euros per month without commitment for two screens
- 14.99 euros per month for a year of engagement and two screens
- 9.99 euros for -26 years via their mobile operator and on tablet, smartphone or computer
Better than Dazn?
A new announcement may bonse even more observers and supporters. Ligue 1+, which will open its subscription campaign on Free, Dazn and Samsung on August 11, then on Orange and SFR the next day. An offer offering subscribers to pay 9.99 euros for three months in the event of an engagement over the year has thus emerged. There will also be a multiplex on Sunday, at 5.15 p.m., with content before and after all the matches broadcast on the Ligue 1+ antenna.
We will quickly know if this new channel will be able to forget the very complicated experience of last season and the unrealistic ambitions of the League at the time. Dazn had reached 700,000 subscribers, more than half less than what was hoped for at the base.
