OM promises!

In a lively match, upside down, OM were able to overthrow Reims this Saturday at the Vélodrome for their first of the season in L1 (2-1).

This OM is still far from being developed but already great promises are displayed. Three days after a non-match in Athens, against Panathinaikos, in the third preliminary round of the Champions League (1-0 defeat), Marseille has recovered well for its first season in the league. Against a beautiful and daring team from Reims, the Olympians won 2-1 in a boiling Vélodrome. Not without a broad staff review.

Exit Aubameyang, Sarr or even Veretout – not to mention suspended Balerdi – it is with Mbemba, Rongier, Vitinha and Mughe on the pitch that the Phocaeans have gained in character and confidence. Despite good intentions immediately observed, the Champenois were able to win over the Marseille public, on an adjusted recovery from Ito (0-1, 10e). No time to gamberger, however, with a sumptuous long shot from Ounahi, OM quickly caught up (1-1, 23e). Then the two teams each find the fault in vain, by Ito, him again, and Vitinha. Two achievements invalidated for a ball out of the meadow and an offside.

Jostled in this first act, the collective directed by Marcelino frankly accelerates the pace after the break. Very enterprising, Vitinha was rewarded for his slaughter on a good service from Sarr, launched into battle at the start of the second period (2-1, 73e). OM push for a third goal in stride but are clumsy in the last gesture. Same observation for the Rémois in an extended additional time (+8 minutes). Here are the Marseillais finally launched on the right track in Ligue 1. We bet that they will be able to rectify the situation in C1 next Tuesday against Panathinaikos.
