Sofiane Feghouli, 35, made an exotic choice. The Algerian international has engaged in Iraq, with a promoted club.

The general public has lost track of Sofiane Feghouli a bit in recent years. Algerian supporters, they have not forgotten that the native of Levallois was one of the great craftsmen of the Fennecs course at the 2010 World Cup and participated in the coronation in the African Cup of Nations in 2019.

The former midfielder of the Grenoble FC, now 35 years old, is not retired. He will afford an exotic challenge to say the least, in a championship which is not traditionally an Eldorado for European footballers at the end of their careers. As the club announced this week, Feghouli has engaged freely with the Almanat Baghdad, just promoted in the Iraqi championship.

The big star of the championship?

After experiments in Grenoble, Valence, Almeria, West Ham, Galatasaray and Fatih Karagümruk until the summer of 2024, the right -hander trained at the Red Star will therefore discover a new championship.

The Iraq Stars League does not have its name particularly well, since renowned players are not really legion. Mohanad Ali, the top scorer of the last championship with 27 achievements, is a room. Sofiane Feghouli will probably be, probably, the largest star in the Iraqian championship.
