Nothing is going well between Ademola Lookman and Atalanta Bergame. The Nigerian international has publicly asked to leave the club to join Inter Milan, at a time when negotiations between the two Lombard clubs have been dragging on for several weeks. In a press release, the hero of the final of the Europa 2024 League did not hesitate to scratch his management which would block his departure. In parallel, the ultras bergamasques multiply the banners in the city to violently apostroplit Lookman, while the Nigerian federation went up to the niche to defend its player. Present at a press conference, President and Managing Director, Luca Percassi, wanted to return to the last 48 hectic hours in the Lookman affair.

“”It is a good opportunity to clarify what happened. Last year, faced with an offer of 20 million euros from PSG, the player asked us to sell it. Atalanta, being a respectable and respected club with values, promised to be able to sell the player during this transfer window on two conditions which he had posed to us: first, that he joins a leading European club and that in Italy, he was never seen under another jersey than that of Atalanta, both for what he did and for what he received from the club. Today, the situation you know is very different. In any case the club is always attentive to assess the statutes and values of its players, but as always it is the club of the Atalanta which will decide at the end».
