Real Madrid leaves nothing to chance before the liga resumption. After a season marked by an avalanche of injuries, the Merengue club chose to make a big cleaning behind the scenes. It is not only the technical staff that is affected, but another key sector of the internal structure, that where reliability is crucial.

The medical sector is the first concerned by this overhaul. Directed since 2023 by Felipe Segura, he saw two of his figures, Daniel Rosado and Jaime Abascal, leave the ship. To strengthen the team, Manuel Arroyo, renowned for his work in Granada, joined the club. These changes are part of a desire to put an end to the physical setbacks that hit the team last season, with up to 25 injuries identified and several executives, such as Mendy or Alaba, forced to go through the infirmary box.

A response to criticism

This reorganization also occurs after internal tensions which had weakened cohesion within the staff. Management wishes to go on stronger bases while Xabi Alonso is preparing to launch its project. Real focuses on a more modern approach and better coordination to avoid disappointments of the past season.

Long threatened by the arrival of a new technical staff, Antonio Pintus, 62, remains in Real Madrid, but in a new function. He is no longer in charge of the physical preparation of the first team, now entrusted to Ismael Camenforte, a close collaborator of Alonso. Pintus becomes “Performance Manager”, a position focused on performance analysis and the proposal for individual adjustments to maximize the performance of players.

A new cycle to consolidate at Real

With this reshuffle, Real Madrid displays its desire to evolve in its health and performance management. It remains to be seen whether these changes will bear fruit, in a season when the requirement will be stronger than ever.
