Paris Saint-Germain could upset its goal of goalkeeper this summer with the probable departure of Gianluigi Donnarumma and the expected arrival of Lucas Chevalier, young porter of Losc. Several media have announced a verbal agreement between PSG and the Lille goalkeeper, while negotiations with Donnarumma would not have succeeded. The Parisian club would now plan to sell the Italian, whose contract expires in a year.

Despite convincing performances in the last season, PSG management does not want to take the risk of seeing Donnarumma go free in 2026. According to The Parisianthe club would favor a transfer this summer, and several English clubs would already be interested in the Italian goalkeeper. Lille, for its part, would require around 40 million euros to let go knight, which it will be necessary to quickly replace.

Faced with this situation which has aroused many reactions, the editorialist Daniel Riolo delivered his analysis. On X, he swept away rumors around financial issues and highlighted a more sporty motivation. “In the case of the PSG goalkeeper … I have the impression that it took time to understand that the coach simply wanted another goalkeeper … All the stories of wheat = blabla”he wrote, stressing that change was not dictated by money.

A sporting choice above all

The journalist thus confirms that the choice of technical staff, and in particular of Luis Enrique, would have guided the decision. The profile of Lucas Chevalier, younger and already followed for a long time, would correspond more to the sports vision of the club for the future. A track that seems to be validated internally, despite the high cost of the transfer.

The guardian's file at PSG promises to be animated in the coming weeks. Despite his performances, Gianluigi Donnarumma no longer seems to be part of Luis Enrique's plans, pushing the club to accelerate on the recruitment of Lucas Chevalier. At the same time, discussions multiply behind the scenes to act a departure from the Italian, notably with Galatasaray in pole position among the clubs interested.
