This is a decision that made a lot of talk. Initially planned on TF1, then on TMC, the third group match of the French women's team at the Euro, against the Netherlands (5-2 Bleues victory), was finally reprogrammed on France 2 Sunday evening. The first channel preferring to transmit instead the final of the World Cup of clubs lost by PSG against Chelsea (3-0).
A polemical choice, but which turned out to pay for TF1. Indeed, the Bleues suffered from comparison with Paris Saint-Germain. The girls of Laurent Bonadei brought together just under 2.3 million viewers on France 2, or 13.8 % audience share.
For comparison, the World Cup final between PSG and Chelsea brought together nearly 4.8 million viewers on TF1, 30.1 % audience share. A figure well below that of the Champions League final, which had gathered 11.8 million viewers on M6 and Canal+ (54 % PDA), but which allows TF1 to achieve the best audience this Sunday.

The Bleues match finished on its third program in terms of audiences, behind Chelsea-Psg therefore and the France 3 TV movie “Alex Hugo”. For comparison, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and her partners had gathered 2.8 when they entered the Euro, then 2.9 million during her second meeting.
