FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have made several deals in recent years, the latest being that of Ousmane Dembele, who will join the French champions in the coming days.
Both clubs may well be in business again in the near future, but the player in question is said to be leaving Paris for Catalonia. It could be Marco Verratti, who has become a target of FC Barcelona, as reported MD.
Xavi Hernandez is keen on signing another midfielder this summer, and Verratti could be the man for the job. PSG are looking to sell the Italy international this summer, alongside fellow Barcelona target Neymar Junior.
Verratti would be an asset to the Barcelona side but a deal would be very hard to come by due to financial issues. PSG’s asking price is probably beyond the reach of the LaLiga champions, while the midfielder’s salary demands are also an issue.
It would be a very big surprise if FC Barcelona managed to seize Verratti, even if it is not excluded at this stage.
