For the final of the Club World Cup this Sunday, the winner will be able to wear a new “World Champions” badge created by FIFA, awarded for several years.

Since its historic victory in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain has has a small golden star embroidered above its logo, symbol of its European triumph. But a new distinctive sign could soon enrich this jersey. Indeed, FIFA plans to award a “world champions” badge to the victorious team of the next club World Cup, organized in the United States.

This badge, recently unveiled by the international body on social networks, takes the form of a round and golden badge, adorned with a pattern evoking the trophy that the players will brandish on the field. He also carries the mentions “World Champions” and “FIFA”.

Worn until 2029

Finalist of the Metlife Stadium competition against Chelsea, PSG could display this prestigious badge. Victory would offer Parisians this privilege for a period of four years, until the next edition of the competition scheduled for 2029, the year of the second edition of the Club World Cup, a new version, while this badge was twelve months.

Beyond the final, the PSG jersey is already experiencing remarkable commercial success. Just after the first match against Atlético de Madrid, sales exploded, recording a spectacular increase of 744 %, proof of the growing craze around the Paris club in the United States.

The meeting is therefore set this Sunday at the Metlife Stadium. Paris and Chelsea will compete for a historical title, with not only the trophy, but also the honor of carrying this new badge and further stimulating the commercial development of PSG across the Atlantic.
