After only a year at the head of Newcastle, it is already the end of the adventure for Paul Mitchell. Arrived in the north of England in July 2024, the former sports director of Monaco decided to leave the club, by mutual agreement with it. “I would like to thank everyone in Newcastle United for their support during the past year, notably Eddie Howe, Becky Langley, players, staff, owners and supporters. It was an honor to be part of the club and work with incredible people ”said Mitchell after his departure.
Before adding: “I am leaving at a time that suits me, to me and to the club, in particular with Darren Eales – someone with whom I worked in close collaboration during my career – who will soon leave.” In a press release, the club specifies that “Paul leaves with the best wishes of the club and the advice wishes to express his sincere thanks for his professionalism and his diligent service.” During his short passage, he will remain as one of the figures of the first major national trophy in Newcastle for 70 years with this victory in Carabao Cup.
