Already assured of the title, the Reds tackled their trip to Brighton in management mode, with Robertson, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold left on the bench. Liverpool remained on two games without victory and no longer forced this end of the season. Opposite, Brighton, who had lost only one of his last five Premier League games, was aiming for 8th place and wanted to offer a last beautiful match to his audience before moving to Tottenham on Sunday. And the start of the game was intense: from the first minute, Gakpo lacked little to open the scoring after a quick action that was launched from the defense. And at the 9th, Salah, perfectly found on the right, deviated from the head towards Bradley, before serving Elliott for the opening of the score (0-1).

Brighton quickly reacted: Back to goal, Welbeck deflected the ball in the axis for Gruda, who perfectly exploited Ayari's call by throwing it with a millimeter pass. Alone facing Alisson, the Swedish striker adjusted the goalkeeper to bring the two teams tied (32nd, 1-1). But shortly before half-time, Liverpool resumed the advantage. Elliott played a short free kick with Szoboszlai, who sent a criminal shot. Verbruggen could not do anything (45th+1, 1-2). After an intense second half, Brighton managed to equalize thanks to the Japanese Mitoma in the 69th minute of play (2-2). But at the end of the match, the locals overthrew the situation. O'riley stood out on the left and was served by Mitoma on the edge of the offside. He centered hard at the second post, where Hinshelwood concluded without trembling (86th, 3-2). Thanks to this victory, the Seagulls comforted their eighth place in the Premier League.
