AS Monaco concluded its season on a defeat against RC Lens (0-4) on Saturday, during the 34th day of Ligue 1. Despite this result, the Principality club managed to finish on the last step of the podium, synonymous with qualification for the Champions League.
And yet, Thiago Scuro, the Monegasque sports director, expressed a slight bitterness at a press conference. Beyond the assessment of Adi Hütter's men, he expressed his desire to take example from Paris Saint-Germain, by advocating an implication of every moment throughout the season.
“When you come to work, it must be 100%”
“It's daily work, only one speech is not enough. I understand that at times the season is difficult with the calendar, defeats, victories, but when you come to work, it must be 100%. Not to joke or rest. Generally, in football, players and staff work two to three hours a day. It's not that hard. You (journalists) work for more hours a day. Me too. If you manage to be concentrated 100% during these two to three hours, on every detail, on what we do, to push our limits, we will become better, I have no doubts about it ”, he said.
“What Paris did this season is a question of mentality”, judged scuro. “It must be an example for us. We had a better team this season than the previous one, in terms of quality and depth of bench. One can always wonder about this or that player to have signed. But I'm talking about something that goes beyond it. I'm talking about the state of mind, working every day at the high level. (…) We have progressed on this in recent seasons. But it also involves daily attitude. »»
