The 2024-2025 season of Bundesliga ended on an assessment rich in emotions and twists and turns. Bayern Munich once again confirmed his supremacy by winning his 34th title, ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, who finished in solid second place. The fight for European places has led the end of the season, offering an exciting show.
This year, Harry Kane won the first title of his career with the Bavarians, to the chagrin of Xabi Alonso. The Bayer Leverkusen coach could not win a last trophy with the club, having content with second place. Behind the first two, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund ensured their direct qualification for the Champions League, strengthening the competitiveness of the top of the classification.
The surprise comes from Friborg, who confirms his ascent by finishing in a qualifying place for the Europa League. Mainz 05 also shone this season by winning the sixth and last qualifying place for European competitions, the Europa Conference League. The club led a fierce fight with Leipzig until the last second, finally winning after a decisive match against Leverkusen (2-2).
Leipzig in agony
For Leipzig, the season is a real disillusionment. Despite five consecutive years in the Top 4 and a regular presence in the Champions League, the club will not play any European competition next season. At one point, Leipzig thought he could take 6th place in Mainz, but a defeat against Stuttgart (2-3) and a return of Mainz in the score sealed their fate.
In the fight for maintenance, the season was just as intense. Holstein Kiel and the VFL Bochum have lost their place in the Bundesliga and are relegated to the second division. Heidenheim, on the other hand, will have to go through the dams to try to save his skin and stay in the German elite.
