The saga continues. Ligue 1 is about to live its epilogue this Saturday evening with an explosive multiplex for the 34th and last day. But behind the scenes, another burning dossier agitates the instances: that of the broadcast of the championship next season. With the announced withdrawal from Dazn, the LFP is seriously working on the creation of a 100 % Ligue 1 channel, which it wishes to entrust to a third -party distributor.

Among the contenders to host this future chain, two names stand out: Amazon, back in the race, and Canal+, historic partner but more and more behind in recent years. And obviously, the possible return of the American giant does not pass at all on the side of the encrypted chain.

Canal+ threatens the LFP

According to Sacha Nokovitch, a team journalist, Canal+ would have very badly digested the discussions engaged between the LFP and Amazon. The private group would not have hesitated to raise the tone: if there is an agreement with Amazon, Canal+ threatens not to distribute the new channel. A clear pressure against the League, at a time when negotiations are in their final phase.

This tension adds a little more blurred around an already complex project to set up. For the LFP, it is imperative to quickly secure a diffusion solution, just a few weeks before the start of the summer transfer window. Clubs are expecting guarantees on TV rights to build their budget.

The final decision cannot be long. The future of the 100 % LFP channel is played now. And with him, the visibility and the financial health of an entire championship.
