He only played a handful of professional matches, but his name already circulates in the corridors of the Santiago Bernabeu. At just 21 years old, this young side has established himself as one of the greatest hopes in his post in Europe, and his performances in the Portuguese championship does not go unnoticed. Trained in Spain before exporting, this player with offensive profile and incessant activity appeals to the largest.

It is Alvaro Carreras, Spanish international U21 and revelation of the season with Benfica, who sharpens the appetites of Real Madrid. Sold by Manchester United at the Lisbon club, the former resident of La Fabrica du Real could return to the White House faster than expected. Madrid explores the possibility of repatriating it this summer … with the involuntary help of the Red Devils.

Indeed, Manchester United keeps a buyout clause set at 15 million euros on Carreras. A sum well lower than the current release clause, estimated at 50 million euros. A detail that does not escape Madrid leaders, who are thinking of asking Mancunians to activate this clause … to then buy them the player at a reduced price, around 20 to 25 million.

Carreras, return announced to the Merengue?

This assembly, if it were to materialize, would allow Madrid to offer a nugget at a lower cost, while ensuring a juicy resale for Manchester. A potentially win-win case … but which risks making Benfica cough, who could feel betrayed by his ex-English partner.

Nothing has yet been acted, but one thing is certain: Alvaro Carreras is no longer a secret for anyone. And if Real Madrid is betting on the future, it could well find in its ranks one of its old jewels … for a price much lower than its real value.
