The poster is magnificent: for the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of OM, the legends Jean-Pierre Papin and Josip Skoblar accompany Fabrizio Ravanelli, Didier Drogba, Franck Ribéry, Mamadou Niang and Samir Nasri. Many players who have marked the Marseille club met for the gala meeting organized at the Vélodrome stadium on Friday evening. Like the European Champions 1993 Pascal Olmeta, Basile Boli, Marcel Desailly, Jocelyn Anglooma and Eric Di Meco.

Ribéry only won the Intertoto Cup with Marseille formation in 2005, after a crazy meeting against Deportivo la Coruchne (5-1). His team then lost two French Cup finals in 2006 against PSG and then in 2007 against Sochaux. Revealed at FC Metz but left for Galatasaray, the feu-follet has truly become a crack of Ligue 1 during its two seasons at OM (90 matches, 18 goals).

Author of a brilliant 2006 World Cup with the French team alongside Zinedine Zidane, the native of Boulogne-sur-Mer then caused a scandal on the Canebière by claiming his departure for OL. He finally stayed and flew to Bayern the next year, when he became the best French player of the time, reaching 3rd place in the 2013 Golden Ball behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ribéry apologizes

Franck Ribéry could not go to the festivities at the Vélodrome stadium for personal reasons, anxious to stay alongside his relatives, as he explained on his
Instagram.

“Dear supporters, I wanted to write this little word to you to tell you that unfortunately, I will not be able to be present this Friday to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the club. I was happy to return to the Vélodrome so that we were celebrating this anniversary all together, but for personal reasons, I am unable to travel today and I must above all stay with mine. I will not be able to be physically yours, but my heart will be there. I wish you a wonderful party, up to this very big club, and, as always: go OM! »»can we read. Whoever obtained his coach diplomas may come back on another occasion.
