Tipped to leave LOSC this summer, Canadian striker Jonathan David (23) is on track to continue the adventure with the northern club next season. In any case, this is what his coach Paulo Fonseca says, who is less and less considering the departure of the top scorer of the Mastiffs (24 goals in 2022-23), as the transfer window advances. The Lusitanian did not, however, refute the possibility of a departure from New York, the price of which was set at 60 million euros by the leaders of Lille.

“I believe Jonathan David will stay. We do not know how this may evolve in the last few weeks. We have to be ready if he were to leave us to replace him. But I believe, at this stage of the season, that there will be one more season,” confided the former coach of AS Roma for The Team.

And to add: “I haven’t talked to him about it. It’s just my feeling. He works well, he seems focused and that’s the most important thing for me. I want the players to feel good,” added the 50-year-old.
