Ligue 1 2024-2025 CRU soon approaches its term. And if we do not know who will play in the Champions League next season, in addition to Paris Saint-Germain, we know even less who will broadcast the championship next season.
A few weeks ago, the rupture seemed very close between the LFP and Dazn, and we even seemed to go to a clash between the League and its main diffuser. But everything is a little better since the arrival of the experienced Nicolas de Tavernost at the head of the LFP Media subsidiary, which brought back serenity in the exchanges between all the parts.
One thing is certain, we will probably continue in the current format. According to RMC, two options are possible. Either a total break between the LFP and Dazn, by finding a financial agreement that will satisfy everyone. Or a continuation of the partnership, with a completely different approach.
Dazn and Canal in the blow with the league
In this second scenario, the LFP would create its own channel to broadcast all the meetings. This would involve recovering the match currently held by BeIN Sports, that on Saturday 5 p.m., but it does not seem to be unthinkable. And the League would count on Dazn to be one of the distributors of this channel. By the way, some Dazn commentators and consultants could be kept in the device.
Still according to RMC, the LFP would also discuss with Canal+, which could also offer its subscribers the league channel (with an additional cost, of course). We know that Nicolas de Tavernost and Maxime Saada are close, which facilitated the resumption of contact. Canal+ would even be interested in being the broadcaster of the Sunday evening poster, in addition to being a distributor of the LFP chain.
