Christopher Nkunku wants to leave Chelsea after missing playing time, but his hope of joining Bayern Munich could depend on the future of Mathys Tel.

Nkunku had a first season disturbed after his transfer from RB Leipzig to Chelsea in 2023 and again lacked playing time this season, most of his opportunities presenting himself in Conference League, where he scored seven goals.

If the 27 -year -old has demonstrated his qualities in the Bundesliga, his place in the starting eleven of Chelsea was blocked by the English international Cole Palmer. Bayern expressed his interest in Nkunku during the January transfer window before abandoning his research, but a replacement striker of Harry Kane is still on his list of wishes and the German journalist Christian Falk told CF Bayern Insider that the attacker was still an option.

Nkunku, the start is becoming clearer

If Nkunku would be eager to leave Stamford Bridge, he needs a favor by Tottenham, the London rival of Chelsea. The Ange Postcoglou team brought Mathys as on loan this winter and Bayern would need their money – an estimated transfer compensation for around 50 million euros – to finance the transfer of Nkunku.

Tel and Nkunku, crossed destinies

The 20 -year -old has scored three goals in 13 appearances so far, but the Spurs still hesitate to formalize his transfer this summer.

Nkunku hopes to put an end to a series of eight aimless games when he probably participated in the semi-final go to the Chelsea conference League against Djurgarden Thursday evening, after staying on the bench during the 1-0 of Saturday victory against Everton.
