After its climbing last weekend against Celta (4-3), FC Barcelona had a new Liga match, in the middle of the week this time, against Mallorca. The opportunity to resume seven units ahead of Real Madrid in the Liga classification, while the Merengues move to the neighbors of Getafe tomorrow evening. For this duel, with the final of Copa del Rey on Saturday in sight, Hansi Flick decided undoubtedly to run and rest frames. Ansu Fati was for example tenured, with other less usual players of the eleven holders like Hector Fort, Gavi and Ferran Torres. Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres therefore composed the Catalan offensive sector.
The start of the meeting was quite animated, with a Barça which set foot on the ball necessarily, but a team of Mallorca which also managed to create danger, like the dangerous center of Antonio Sanchez for Larin who forced Szczesny to get out of his line (6th). On the Barça side, we were looking for Lamine Yamal a lot on this start of the match, while in the left, Ansu Fati wanted to show himself. The first real Catalan occasion came to a strike from Ferran Torres from the outside (12th), pushed by Leo Roman, and behind, Lamine Yamal recovered the ball and also rose on the rival goalkeeper. But Mallorca hurt the rapid transitions, with Barcelona in difficulty when the islanders attacked on the wings. Dani Olmo, after a caviar from Lamine Yamal, saw the rival goalkeeper released a superb intervention (26th), while Araujo lacked a golden opportunity, not framing after a shot from Lamine Yamal pushed by Leo Roman (29th). Barça dominated more and more seriously and Eric Garcia also saw the rival porter intervening once again, this time to cut a center of death for Ferran Torres (31st).
The majority goalkeeper was exceptional
But Mallorca held, with a heroic goalkeeper and too numerous approximations of the Barcelona offensive players. The time was scored, and Barça was pushing, but could not succeed. Served by a pedri enough in legs this evening again, Ansu Fati loupe himself in front of the goal (43rd), and behind, the Montjuic stadium made a big fright with a goal from Mateu Jaume to Mallorca, finally canceled due to an offside. No winner at the break, but Dani Olmo was going to take care of changing the situation as soon as the locker room returns. Found in the surface, the Spanish international set off a good rolled up to the ground, opposite post (1-0, 46th). An opening of the rather logical and deserved score for a Barça, which was trying to make the station wagon quickly. Ansu Fati pulled by far but Leo Roman interposed (50th). Lamine Yamal, on his special, saw the leather pass over the bar (53rd).
Small fright on a head of Raillo who was brushing the post all the same (55th), proof that the Blaugranas were not completely safe. Anxious to give new impetus to his team, Hansi Flick made Fermin Lopez and Raphinha enter, while Pedri, shining tonight, struck above (65th). For his part, Larin rose well to regain his head but did not frame (72nd). Lamine Yamal was clearly 2-0, missing his mano mano with the goalkeeper after a new Pedri caviar (79th). Leo Roman released yet another decisive parade, this time on a powerful strike from Pau Victor (84th), and so Mallorca lost only one goal this evening, it was largely thanks to his goalkeeper. He even released a reflex stop on Eric Garcia after falling from a corner (85th), then recurred on a distant shot from Fermin Lopez who had also been deflected by a defender (85th). In additional time, Roman was again and again providential on its line, still in front of Fermin Lopez (90th+3). This 1-0 victory therefore does not necessarily reflect the scenario of the match, since the Catalans had a lot of opportunities, but stumbled on a door on fire. The three points in pocket, Barça temporarily resumes seven points ahead of Real Madrid, condemning Carlo Ancelotti's troops to a victory in Getafe tomorrow.
