After Real Madrid’s defeat against Juventus, Carlo Ancelotti spoke about his team’s areas of progress.
During the night of Wednesday to Thursday the real Madrid again bowed to the Juventus of Turin (1-3), just five days after the setback against FC Barcelona (0-3). In these two matches, the Merengues were not really dominated and even tried a lot with more than 50 shots in two games… for only one goal scored.
Progress to be made in several sectors
A lack of efficiency which could become problematic in the long term, and a defense in great difficulty, these are the main lessons of the last two matches of the people of Madrid. Despite this, Carlo Ancelotti is not worried about his team. “The pre-season has been positive and we have shown different facets in the games we have played: one very good and another in the defensive aspect that we need to improve. The team is not used to defending in diamonds. We conceded too many goals against Juventus and Barcelona. We have lacked balance and we need to fix it. The defensive aspect is easier to improve because it is a problem of placement, concentration and attitude. In the pressing, we were good and aggressive, but we were fragile with a low block. (…) But I remember the good things and the chances that we created in attack
