3-1 winner at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain was moving to Birmingham this time to face Aston Villa. High up and wanting to catch up with this failed first leg, the band of Unai Emery returned with good occasions. For this part, Aston Villa opted for a compact 4-3-3 in the midfield with the tenure of Amadou Onana alongside Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara. On the Parisian side, we stayed on a classic 4-3-3 where Marquinhos returned to defense alongside Willian Pacho. In front, Bradley Barcola began in place of Désiré Doué alongside Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. From the outset, Aston Villa was trying to suffocate Paris Saint-Germain. On a corner of Marcus Rashford, Amadou Onana deviated from the head, but Joao Neves moved away the danger (3rd). However, Paris Saint-Germain operated the spaces and on a center of Bradley Barcola from the left, Emiliano Martinez lacked his exit. The ball returned to the axis for Achraf Hakimi which delivered the Ile-de-France training (1-0, 11th). Just behind, Aston Villa was going back to the attack and Pau Torres forced Gianluigi Donnarumma to the parade (19th). Shortly after, the stirring Morgan Rogers passed close to scoring, but his shot passed to the right of the frame (24th). PSG was making a round back and stung again with an action concluded by Nuno Mendes following a good service by Ousmane Dembélé (2-0, 28th).

Back to the wall, Aston Villa nevertheless raised his head on a good job of John McGinn who mystified Vitinha before finding Youri Tielemans. On the left of the Parisian surface, the Belgian struck, but his shot was deflected by Willian Pacho before finishing in the bottom of the Parisian goals (2-1, 34th). A slight revolt, but Paris Saint-Germain was not worried and just before the break and on a nice movement on the left side, Ousmane Dembélé narrowly missed the third goal (44th). Upon returning from the locker room, Aston Villa haussed the tone. After a first precious intervention by Marquinhos (52nd), John McGinn was going to equalize a strike at the entrance to the surface (2-2, 55th). In the strings, Paris Saint-Germain was back and it was needed a sublime parade of Gianluigi Donnarumma before Marcus Rashford to delay the deadline (56th). Just behind on a corner badly cleared by the Parisian defense, Ezri Konsa was going to take out of the game to pass the Birmingham club in front (3-2, 58th). The match was shooting and Gianluigi Donnarumma had to take place from a new parade to prevent Youri Tielemans from scoring a new goal (60th). If Paris Saint-Germain tried to raise its head to the image of this shot from Ousmane Dembélé (66th), the Ile-de-France club was on a thread and Gianluigi Donnarumma was narrowly interposed in front of Marco Asensio (70th). Morgan Rogers could not find the frame, but also let a thrill pass in the Parisian surface (78th). In suffering, Paris Saint-Germain, however, resisted and only bowed 3-2. A defeat not eliminatory since with their success 3-1 of the first leg, the Parisians qualify in the semi-finals and will face Arsenal or Real Madrid.
