OL have formalized the arrival of Croatian central defender Duje Caleta-Car, in the form of a paid loan with an option to buy. The former OM player could cost up to 7 million euros.
While OL are waiting to sell their young rock Castello Lukeba for 40 to 50 million euros (Leipzig made a final offer at 32), the recruitment of Duje Caleta-Car (26) was formalized on Wednesday. The Croatian defender passed by OM arrives in the form of a loan from Southampton.
The Rhone club thus reveals that the amount of the loan amounts to 1.54 million euros, with a purchase option set at 3.59 million. If the Gones definitely recruit the Croatian international, he could then pay a bonus of 2.1 million. An additional incentive of 15% on any future capital gain has been negotiated.
Caleta-Car cost Saints €8m last year but failed to make a name for themselves in the struggling Premier League outfit. The 1.93m colossus has not always been convincing at OM and has little justification for its 2018 purchase price of 19 million.
