The countdown is launched for Paul Pogba. After having served his suspension of 18 months for doping and terminated his contract with Juventus last February, the French midfielder (32 years old) actively prepares his return to the highest level.

Currently in the United States to refine its physical condition, “Pioche” has recently mandated a new agent, Arturo Canales, to find a new challenge, with a marked preference for Europe. While its name logically circulates on the market of free players, two tracks today seem to be detached more concretely.

Pogba always remains without a club.

The first leads to Italy, a championship that Pogba knows by heart. According to information from Sky Italia, Fiorentina is actively preparing an approach to attracting the 2018 world champion. The Florence club has made a specialty to relaunch players in search of a new breath, as evidenced by the successful arrival of the former Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea. The Viola would see in pogba a similar opportunity to restore brilliance to immense talent and to achieve a major media and sporting blow in Serie A. The career reconstruction project could seduce French.

Pogba and OM, an always active reflection

The second option would bring Paul Pogba back to France, on the side of Olympique de Marseille. More than just rumor, contacts would have taken place during the last winter transfer window between the Pogba clan and the Olympian management. At the time, Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia had led a reflection but had finally chosen not to follow up, in particular so as not to upset the balance of the workforce during the exercise. However, the Marseille management would not be adamant and would always evaluate the option of recruiting Pogba during the next summer transfer window. The player, for his part, would not have kept thoroughness of this unsuccessful winter approach. OM could therefore come back to the charge this summer, ready to jump on the opportunity if all the conditions are met to welcome the French international.

Between a return to Italy in an ambitious club and specialist in “Paris”, and the possibility of a media comeback in France in Marseille where the door is not closed, Paul Pogba is faced with two distinct paths to relaunch a career put in parentheses. His choice will be decisive for the rest of his career. There is no doubt that his new agent actively explores these avenues, and the player's final decision is now impatiently awaited in the coming weeks. Football Europe retains its breath.
