Future OM recruit Iliman Ndiaye was greeted at Marseille airport by around 500 Marseille supporters.

It was past midnight, but no matter. The supporters of Olympique de Marseille obviously wanted to welcome their new recruit. On the night of Sunday to Monday, they were indeed at least 500 at Marignane airport to cheer on the Senegalese striker Iliman Ndiaye.

Iliman Ndiaye is not, however, the most impressive CV recruited by the Olympians in recent years, since he comes from the English second division (where he had a very good rating). But he has on his side his attachment to OM, whose colors he wore during his young years, especially when he was playing at the academy.

This is why OM supporters wanted to commune with the one they already feel very close to. And that’s why Iliman Ndiaye had no trouble resuming certain songs launched at the airport, in particular the famous “To arms”.

Iliman Ndiaye is therefore OM’s sixth summer recruit, after Geoffrey Kondogbia, Renan Lodi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ismaila Sarr and Ruben Blanco. He will fill the offensive sector of the club, and bring great solutions to Marcelino, his new coach.

The 22-year-old Senegalese comes out of a season with 14 goals and 11 assists in the league. His club, promoted to the Premier League, absolutely wanted to keep him. But OM won the day after tough negotiations.
