Will PSG really leave the Parc des Princes? The majority of fans seem against it, but the management of the Ile -de -France club is ready to cross the course. “Our ambition is to develop to remain competitive. To do this, revenue must be increased. And with regard to the hospitalities and the ticket office, we have reached a ceiling at the Parc des Princes ”thus exhibits Victoriano Melero, the director general of PSG, in Le Figaro. “We have to increase the capacity of the stadium. This requires very heavy investments. One of the conditions is therefore to be the owner of the stadium. As the park is no longer for sale, we look around Paris. In the coming weeks, we will focus on all economic, technical, legal, administrative, financial studies on a preferential site. If this track is conclusive it could accommodate the future stadium. We need a larger stage to support our growth. The objective is to increase our income in ticket office and hospital, but also to offer fans the experience of the future, which must live up to their commitment and the requirements of the next decades. »»

Those who believe in a possible reversal of the situation and the redemption of the Parc des Princes will fall from above, since Melero claims to have no exchange with the mayor of Paris on the subject for several years. And he seems convinced that a move in the suburbs will not be counterproductive. “The preliminary studies that we conducted show that yes (it is possible to settle 20 or 30 km from Paris, editor's note). We are at the dawn of a mobility revolution with Grand Paris, and this offers many opportunities, such as imagining the future stadium which will be adapted to the fans of tomorrow. »»
