Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that winning a trophy this season would not change his evaluation from the surprising Citizens campaign.

To say that Manchester City has experienced difficulties this season would be to underestimate how the title champions of the Premier League suffered. Part of the reason for their distrust could be attributed to Rodri's injury in September.

But City, despite his difficulties, still has a chance to win a trophy since he qualified for the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after his victory over Plymouth Argyle. However, Guardiola claimed that winning a trophy would not change his assessment of the season.

Pep will not change any reviews

Addressing the media, Guardiola said: “It is better to win the hat -trick or the quadruple. Come on. It was a difficult period, we were not good but if we win (the FA Cup), it will not change the season. Of course not.

“We do not qualify for the first time in the Group phase of the Champions League. We are in the Premier League with 13 or 14 games to play and no chance of winning, it has never happened before. This season has not been good. Of course, it will be good to arrive in Wembley in the semi-finals with a chance to reach the final. We have a lot of respect for the teams that are ahead of us ”.

The Guardiola team continues its quest for qualification for the Champions League next season, and the Catalan tactrician said that he was satisfied with the way his team played after his defeat against Real Madrid last month. He said: ” I have the feeling that each step is improving. Many good things happen. The atmosphere is good, I have the feeling that last month was much better. Maybe not for 90 minutes like the Spurs, but the reason is that we failed to define the game in the first half. »»
