The president of Olympique de Marseille Pablo Longoria could soon be sanctioned by the LFP for the remarks he issued against the arbitration after the match between the Marseille City club in Auxerre. According to information from RMC Sport, discussions were underway on Monday morning at the LFP to determine the fate of OM president. As a reminder, Pablo Longoria had launched polemical remarks against the arbitration which he described as “Corrupted” and of the championship which he defined as being a “Shit championship”. The Marseille president had also indicated in anger wanting to leave Ligue 1 to join the Superligue: “If the Super League comes to see us, we go right away.”

Afterwards, Pablo Longoria and the management of Olympique de Marseille admitted to having gone too far in their words. OM boss has also shown mea-culpa in an interview with AFP this Monday morning. “” I want to say that there is no corruption in French football “Said Pablo Longoria. Before adding: ” The form was not appropriate and this word, I regret it ”.

What sanction for Longoria?

Despite the regrets, the president of OM could dear his words dearly against the refereeing and the French championship. RMC Sport indicates that, according to specialized lawyers, Pablo Longoria could receive a maximum sentence of 12 suspension matches. This sentence will apply if the concept of “Coarse / abusive behavior” (as mentioned in article 6 of the FFF disciplinary regulation) is retained.

In any case, the Marseillais will have to wait until March 5, a legal deadline which must be respected by the LFP, to be fixed on their fate.
