FC Barcelona has been linked to Jonathan Tah since last summer, when the Catalans have produced a last minute offer for the player.

It seems more and more that the Catalan capital will actually be its destination this summer. The 28 -year -old is at the end of the contract this summer and was also the subject of a long prosecution of Bayern Munich last summer. It was said that Tah had been interested for several months, his agent Pini Zahavi declaring that ” Bayern remains a possibility for this summer ”. However, more recently, Bayern sports director Christoph Freund explained that Tah was not in their minds at the moment.

This coincides with rumors that Tah has decided to sign for Barcelona. It would seem that the two parties have not yet concluded, but that they are in talks. Christian Falk, a German transfer specialist, told Daily Briefing that there was no chance that Tah stayed in Leverkusen, after informing them of his departure.

Bayern will not make him any offer, according to Falk, and he describes the transfer of Tah to Barcelona as “Only a matter of time”.

Jonathan Tah expected

This contradicts the comments of the sports director of FC Barcelona Deco, who noted that with Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez all on the books next season, he would be ” difficult “
For the club to recruit another central defender this summer. However, this did not alleviate speculations that at least one of the two will leave, and in particular, that Araujo could be on the verge of being sold with great fanfare this summer.

Admittedly, if Tah arrives, the departure of Araujo would be a logical consequence. Both will probably require a holder's role at this stage of their career, and it seems that Pau Cubarsi is an essential element of the rear line in the predictable future.
