FC Barcelona leaders are “starting to panic” at the idea of losing Ousmane Dembélé to Paris Saint-Germain.

The French giants are longtime admirers of the Blaugrana winger and their interest has become more and more concrete in recent weeks. The fact that Dembélé has a release clause – active until the end of July – of just €50m is particularly enticing.

In 2017, Barcelona paid a then-record €135m to secure the services of the Borussia Dortmund star, but his recurring injury problems have lowered his rating. However, when his current release clause expires, a new one, worth €100m, will be activated, according to Fabrizio Romano.

With days to go until the end of July, PSG are ready to step up their search for the winger. While the Frenchman has previously been rumored to want to stay at Barcelona – he even rejected a big offer from Al-Hilal – club officials are now starting to worry about a possible departure.

PSG go on the offensive

According Footmercato, PSG went on the offensive to try to recruit the striker. The French media even goes so far as to affirm that ” according to our information, the 26-year-old will indeed sign with PSG this summer”.

He claims personal terms have been agreed on a five-year deal and the Parisians will activate his release clause. FC Barcelona sporting director Deco has been desperate to renew Dembele’s contract since at least the beginning of June, but now it seems like it’s too late.
