Victim of the incredible scenario of Bordeaux-Rodez at the end of last season, Annecy lost its place in Ligue 2 but still does not admit defeat.
Eight days before the start of the new Ligue 2 season, FC Annecy has not lost hope of still evolving in the antechamber of the elite, despite its hasty relegation from sport last season by the suspension of the Bordeaux-Rodez match in favor of the RAF, after Ruthenian striker Lucas Buades was attacked by a Girondins supporter.
However, the Haut-Savoyard club is losing patience, suspended from the next decisions of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation (FFF) as to the future of Sochaux, administratively demoted to National but potentially salvageable with the project to take over the Peugeot family. The Annecy residents denounce the timing observed and a Sochaux appeal which still and always leaves their club on the sidelines. ” At the beginning of the week, the CNOSF will decide on the situation of the FC Sochaux Montbéliard club. It is not for us to discuss the decision even if we can only be surprised that a potential takeover project could be the subject of an opinion from the CNOSF even though the DNCG, which took this decision, never knew about it. (…) We consider it totally unfair to accept, 7 days before the start of the Ligue 2 championship, while we have maintained our workforce, organized professional preparation with particularly healthy and patiently built finances, that we are again and again penalized by unpredictable events. »
Also FC Annecy renews its request for repechage, in a championship with 21 teams – solution initially rejected by the Professional Football League (LFP): “ We solemnly ask, as UNECATEF and UNFP have done, to the leaders of the FFF, the LFP, the Minister of Sports and the Para-Olympic Games, and also the President of the Republic, to finally to record that Ligue 2 is at 21 clubs within the framework of maintaining FC Sochaux Montbéliard, and this, out of respect for sporting ethics, our Institution, our employees, our supporters, our territory and in the finding of an absolutely exceptional solution but provided for in article 3 of the regulations which accepts a Ligue 2 of up to 22 clubs. »
