Michel Platini is officially no longer alone in the 6th position of the best French scorers in history.

Retired from land since 1987, Michel Platini has had a career rich in success. French champion with Nancy, Italian champion with Juventus Turin, winner of the Champions and Euro League (1986), but also three times from the Ballon d'Or (1983, 1984 and 1985), “Platoche” left an indelible mark in the annals of football. Also, thanks to its statistics.

More than a large number 10, Platini was also recognized for its scorer qualities. As proof, he scored 354 goals (all competitions) during his career. The former president of UEFA is thus ranked sixth in the best French scorers in history. A place that he should not, however, keep for a long time.

Platini joined by Mbappé

Indeed, Michel Platini saw Kylian Mbappé join him at this sixth place on Saturday evening. Scorer in the Madrid derby against Atlético (1-1), Bondy's kid thus brought his total career goals to 354. Aged only 26 years old, the former PSG striker, transferred last summer In Real Madrid, should therefore, unless disaster, go beyond his illustrious compatriot in the days or weeks to come

Mbappé is off to a good start – if he continues on this pace and he is spared from injuries – to become the top tricolor scorer in history. He could even settle on the podium this season. Just in front of him, within shooting, is Bafétimbi Gomis (5e361 goals), André Pierre Gignac (4e363) and Roger Courtois (3e364). He then will have in the viewfinder Thierry Henry (2e411) and finally Karim Benzema (1er489). Note that the “Nueve” and “APG” are still active.
