Officially landed this summer from RB Leipzig, Christopher Nkunku is already doing his thing at Chelsea. Scorer twice in three pre-season games (Wrexham and Brighton), the Blues center-forward hopes to enjoy the same success in London as in Germany, where he was voted player of the year in 2022. Now under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino, Nkunku returned for The Times on his arrival in the English capital. “Chelsea’s season last year was not good, everyone knows that. This year is a new project, a new year, a new season. I am part of this project and I am happy to be here. Even if Chelsea were 15th or 16th, it doesn’t matter to me because I knew the new season wouldn’t be the same as last season.”says the former Parisian.

Leaving Leipzig for Chelsea, Christopher Nkunku knows where he is stepping. Last year, the Blues experienced chaos, and 4 different coaches. The challenge is great, as much as the ambitious project of Todd Boehly’s club. “I want to work every session, every game. I know I can do a lot of great things here, that’s why I’m sitting here. We’ll see in the future but I’m not afraid of anything.”blows the French international to the Times, about the mixed passages of Timo Werner and Kaï Havertz, out of the Bundesliga. Next meeting for the new Blues striker: Sunday against Fulham for a London derby.
