Lionel Messi continues to surround himself with relatives at Inter Miami. After Suarez and Busquets, a new ally joins the ranks of the Floridian club.

The shadow of Lionel Messi always hovers more on Inter Miami. After seeing several of his former teammates like Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba or Luis Suarez join the Florida project, the Pulga seems to have attracted a loved one again to the club. To believe that Argentinian genius is now shaping the team's sporting future on and off the field.

But this time, he is not an accomplice of a locker room or a former teammate on the field. In reality, it is Guillermo Hoyos, a well -known figure of Messi, who is preparing to occupy a key role in the club organization chart. More than a simple professional link, Hoyos is considered by Messi as a paternal figure in his career. He had already described it in 2010 as “Football father”a man who marked his beginnings at FC Barcelona as a coast of young people.

A new strong man behind the scenes of Miami

According to information relayed by several media, Hoyos will become the new sports director of Inter Miami, replacing Raul Sanllehi, now reassigned to institutional functions. Arrived at the club in 2023 as director of the methodology, Hoyos had quickly taken his marks alongside Messi and in the sports organization chart.

Messi vout all his whims in Miami.

This appointment occurs in a context of internal reorganization for Inter Miami. The president of football operations Raul Sanllehi, who had joined the club in 2024, was dismissed from his initial role after a tense exchange with Messi following a friendly match. Sanllehi will now work from Coral Gables offices, while Hoyos will take control of sports decisions concerning the first team.

The close circle of Messi at the heart of the project

After attracting stars on the ground, Lionel Messi therefore sees another close to a strategic position behind the scenes. The arrival of Hoyos reinforces the unique link between the Argentinian player and the Miami club, while the team is preparing to face major challenges, including the 2025 World Cup.

With this new chapter, Inter Miami seems more than ever oriented towards a project shaped around Messi, in what looks like a real personal empire.
