A historic arrival at PSG!

PSG has not given up. However, the recent past did not speak in its favor. On several occasions, the capital club had already tried to attract a star from Napoli. But whether for central defender Kalidou Koulibaly in 2020, midfielder Allan in 2019 or striker Victor Osimhen last summer, the Parisian leaders each time came up against the inflexibility of their Neapolitan counterparts.

Intransigent President Aurelio de Laurentiis demanded no less than 100 million each time. The French champions could therefore be worried when starting discussions concerning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, followed for many months by Luis Campos and his teams. In Italy, some had also affirmed that PSG was ready this time to pay these famous 100 million euros.

Most expensive winter transfer in history

Six months later, the situation has changed and if the two clubs have reached an agreement concerning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the transfer should ultimately amount to ‘only’ 70 million euros. Enough to make the Georgian winger PSG’s most expensive recruit during a winter transfer window. These 70 million in fact surpass the 65 million paid by the capital club, in January 2023, to finalize the arrival of Gonçalo Ramos, who had been left at Benfica until the following summer.

Before the Portuguese striker, the reference brand was owned by Lucas Moura, recruited for 40 million euros from Sao Paulo in the winter of 2013, and Leandro Paredes, also purchased for 40 million euros from Zenith Saint Petersburg in winter 2019.
