Traveling to Rennes on Saturday evening, on behalf of the 17e day of Ligue 1, Olympique de Marseille won 1-2, thus achieving a seventh match in a row (all competitions combined) without defeat (6 wins and 1 draw). A meeting marked by the new goal scored by Mason Greenwood.

Arriving last summer in the Marseille city, the English striker has already found the net 11 times this season, thereby making OM history. Indeed, Mason Greenwood became the first player to score 11 goals after his first 17 matches with OM in Ligue 1 since Sonny Anderson in 1994 (14 goals), i.e. 31 years, reports the X Stats Foot account.

Greenwood, the most decisive player in Ligue 1

Furthermore, Mason Greenwood scored his 8th away goal in the French championship this season. Only Robert Lewandowski (11), Mohamed Salah (11) and Omar Marmoush (9) do better than him on the road in the five major European championships.

In addition to having signed for Rennes his 11e achievement of the season in Ligue 1 – which places him at the top of the scorers ranking tied with Jonathan David – the 23-year-old Englishman delivered his third assist. Enough to make the former Mancunian the most decisive player in France at the moment.
