Everton formalized this Saturday the return of David Moyes for a second term at the head of his team. Following the ouster of Sean Dyche on Thursday, the Toffees have decided to call on the Scottish coach again. A regular at the club, he notably managed the residents of Goodison Park between 2002 and 2013.

Without a club since his departure from West Ham last summer, the 61-year-old tactician will have the mission of refloating the ship of Blues. Currently, the Liverpool team occupies 16th place in the Premier League table, one point from the first relegation Ipswich Town, with a game in hand.

For his 519th and 520th matches with Everton, Moyes will have his work cut out for him. It will begin with shocks against Aston Villa and Tottenham in the league, on January 15 and 19.

During his first stint with the Mersey club, Moyes was successful. The Glasgow native not only managed to keep Everton in the top half of the table, but also conquer the last place in the Big Four in 2004-2005. This is the EFC’s best performance since the 1988-1989 financial year under the leadership of Colin Harvey.
