The Las Palmas club, for its part, judged that the economic rules put in place had been flouted. “The resolution issued yesterday by the Superior Sports Council (CSD) surprised us unfavorably and since then at UD Las Palmas we have expressed our absolute disagreement. We consider that this decision represents a serious danger for the integrity of the competition and creates a worrying precedent which could destabilize the foundations of professional football in our country. And if many clubs therefore opposed the registration of Olmo and Pau Victor, this is not the case for great rival Real Madrid. Quite the contrary. Sport reveals that Florentino Perez, unlike the presidents of Sevilla FC, Bilbao or Atlético, was one of the only ones to support Laporta’s maneuvers to register the two players.
The Catalan daily explains that Joan Laporta is today the only ally of the president of Real Madrid regarding his Super League project.
