The extended soap opera finally reaches its conclusion. For several weeks the question of the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in La Liga has been raised. Failing to provide the required financial guarantees, Barça was refused the registration of its two players for the second part of the season. But deeming this decision by La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) unfair, the Catalan club, through its president Joan Laporta, contacted the CSD, an organ of the Spanish Ministry of Sports but totally independent and autonomous.

The Council then gave Barça the green light to grant a precautionary measure allowing the provisional registration of its two players. A reaction which has also sparked heated controversy in Spain, since certain clubs, including Las Palmas, have firmly opposed this decision. This Thursday evening, the pill should be even more complicated to swallow for the refractory players, given that La Liga has finally formalized the registration of Olmo and Victor for the second part of the season. On its website, the Spanish Football League lists the two players as “eligible“.
