This evening, FC Barcelona began their Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic with great relief. The Spanish Higher Council of Sport (CSD) authorized the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, thus going against the verdicts of LaLiga and the Spanish federation. However, the matter is not yet over since the Spanish League reacted by announcing that it was going to study the resolution taken by the CSD in order to know what action to take.

“LALIGA took note this afternoon of the Resolution issued by the President of the Higher Council of Sport by which, without having heard either LALIGA or the RFEF, the precautionary measure requested by FC Barcelona and by the players Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Pau Víctor Delgado, maintains the validity of the licenses of these players until the appeal filed by the latter against the Agreement of the Monitoring Commission of the Coordination Agreement RFEF-LALIGA is definitively resolved. In view of this resolution, LALIGA wishes to clarify that:

– The resolution was adopted without the appeal having been transferred or LALIGA or RFEF having had the opportunity to present their allegations, so the arguments put forward by the players and FC Barcelona in the appeal are not known at present.
– The content of the resolution will be carefully studied with a view to introducing appropriate remedies, without prejudice to the expression of absolute disagreement with the resolution.

– Regardless of the above, the agreement of the monitoring committee of the RFEF-LALIGA coordination agreement reflects the prior agreement of LALIGA to refuse the prior visa, and of the RFEF the definitive license of the footballers Mr. Daniel Olmo and Mr. Pau Víctor, as explained in the minutes themselves.

– However, the Resolution refers to a series of motivations referring to the rights of athletes in their sporting career, a question that we will study when the file is sent to us. »
