Bayern Munich offers itself a new soap opera. Indeed, Jamal Musiala (21) is stealing the spotlight from Alphonso Davies, who could freely join Real Madrid next summer. Under contract until June 2026, the German born in 2003 has been discussing an extension with his managers for many months. A few weeks ago, the German press was rather optimistic about Musiala’s future. Sky Germany also mentioned in December a new lease of 4 or 5 years thanks to which he would receive between 100 and 125 M€. This, while his name has been mentioned at Manchester City or Real Madrid, where his great friend Jude Bellingham plays. But in recent days, the tone has been a bit different.

The Musiala clan wants to include a release clause
This Wednesday, SportBild takes stock of this burning issue. And the German media reveals some funny information. Thus, the Musiala clan, which discussed the contours of the new contract with Max Eberl, made its first proposal to the club. And the player and his agents wish to include a release clause in his new contract with the residents of the Allianz Arena. This would amount to €175 million! Musiala’s entourage believes that the longer the contract is (his new lease could go until 2030), the more sense the integration of a release clause makes. But this proposal does not suit Bayern Munich, who see this in a very negative light.
Management has always opposed this practice, which it sees as a wake-up call and a means of being robbed. The club’s thinking heads believe that it is up to Bayern Munich to have control when it comes to selling a player. A release clause would expose them. No player in the current group has a release clause and the Bavarians do not intend to change this rule. An agreement has therefore not yet been reached between the two parties, even if the player wishes to extend. But this clause changes a lot of things in the minds of the people of Munich.
